ABOUT US!!

I grew up in Southern California and owned a sailing business in San Diego. This is where my wife, Lisa, and I enjoyed small boat sailing such as catamaran racing and windsurfing.

After earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in psychology at San Diego State University, we moved to the Northwest. I completed a doctoral program in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State University. For 10 years I instructed in that department and taught courses in motor control and movement dysfunction, neuromuscular control of human movement, motor learning, nutrition, research writing, and various computer classes.

My primary interest regards the role consciousness plays in optimizing health. There is a practical link between the mind and body. Every thought and emotion we experience has a biochemical communication with each cell in the body. It is important that these communications be positive. This is best ensured by cultivating a calm mind, which results from breathing practices, visualizations, affirmations, and sustained inquiry into the nature of being.

I have been practicing these techniques for almost 40 years. This is the most important step you can take to maintain health and live life with vitality. I have created the three video meditations in the Healing Light Series to help those with chronic illness realize those goals.

My wife and I currently reside in the Northwest where we develop and test interventions for preventing disease.
